Forecasters say thunderstorms forming Thursday afternoon and evening could produce very large hail, damaging wind gusts up to about 70 mph, and isolated tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the eastern Texas Panhandle under a “slight risk” for severe weather, while surrounding areas remain under a marginal risk. Supercell storms are possible along a dryline boundary, raising the chance of large hail and localized severe damage.
